PARVATI

Petra-Maria Reicher

Having grown up with longing, music was and still is a direct channel (connection) for me to my feelings and to godliness. As I was brought up in a non-religious family, I promised myself even as a child to express my service to mankind and to the love of God through music. I was a violinist and therefore experienced the feeling of being a part of the sound of a large resonating body. Then I became a classical singer because I thought that our voice is a god-like instrument and a mirror of our soul. But my longing was always there and nothing I heard was the same to my inner ear. Even before my first trip to India, I liked Mantras and was deeply moved by the power that comes from them. My longing was stilled and then it was very easy to come closer to the Light, if I sang them with my whole heart and bound myself to Love.
